Uganda Christian University (UCU) is a private, Christian university located in Mukono, Uganda. Founded in 1997, it is one of the top-ranked universities in Uganda, and is accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various disciplines, including business, computer science, education, law, medicine, and theology.

TB-Speed is a Unitaid & L’Initiative (Expertise France) funded project aiming at reducing childhood mortality due to tuberculosis (TB) by developing, testing, and delivering an innovative, decentralized, cost-effective, and feasible childhood TB diagnostic strategy to increase case finding in children.
This international research project is implemented in 7 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia.

The Borstel Research Center is the Lung Research Center of the Leibniz Association. It investigates diseases associated with civilization such as asthma and COPD as well as lung infections, especially tuberculosis (TB). The overriding goal of the basically interdisciplinary and translational research activities is to elucidate the causes and mechanisms of infectious and non-infectious chronic inflammatory diseases of the lung in order to derive new innovative concepts for their prevention, diagnosis and therapy.
