🧭 Course Overview

The RCR Course is organized under the SUSTAIN: Advancing Makerere University Masters of Health Sciences in Bioethics Program. It is designed to foster a culture of ethical and responsible research practice among health researchers and bioethics professionals in Uganda.


🎯 Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
✔️ Identify and prevent research misconduct
✔️ Understand ethical principles and professional norms in scientific research
✔️ Apply responsible practices in all research-related activities


🗂️ Course Content Includes:

  • Introduction to RCR and Research Ethics

  • Human and Animal Subject Protections

  • Conflict of Interest & Peer Review

  • Collaborative and Community-Based Research

  • Mentor-Mentee Relationships

  • Data Management, Authorship & Publication

  • Financial Responsibility in Research

  • Researchers, Assistants, Coordinators

  • Graduate Students & Supervisors

  • Research Administrators

🏅 Certificates will be awarded to participants with at least 80% attendance.
