He is an Orthopaedic and Spine surgeon, Associate Professor and current chair of the Department of Human Anatomy.
He is a former research ethics committee chair and member of the Forum for Research Ethics Committee Chairs in Uganda. He is a member of the bioethics working group at Uganda National Council for Science and Technology and is actively involved in short course training in Human Subject Protection, Responsible Conduct of Research, Good Clinical Practice, and Clinical Ethics. He is a faculty member of the US Fogarty International Centre (FIC) funded International Health Research Ethics Training (IHRET) Master of Bioethics training program at Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MakCHS). He is a co-investigator and coordinator of a PhD in Bioethics training program at MakCHS. He is a principal investigator and past Chair of the H3Africa Ethics and Community Engagement Working Group. His research interests include research ethics, ethicl, legal and social issues in biobanking and genomic research, clinical ethics, digital health ethics, human anatomy, medical education, and bone health. He has published more than 100 papers in peer reviewed journals.
